Kelly Gabel, Site Manager, Aric Bostick, Motivational Speaker, Megan Pierce, Student Acheivement Specialist, and Mike Christman, Assistant Principal

Site Manager's Welcome:

I'm Kelly Gabel the Site Manage for Gear Up at Southridge High School. It is a pleasure to WELCOME you to Southridge High School! The Washington State University GEAR UP Program (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) welcomes you to the 2017-2018 school year. We hope to share with you our pride in our students and our Southridge community.

We are starting our fifth year at Southridge, and have many great events and opportunities planned to GEAR UP our students academically and get them ready for college. We also look forward to continuing to build lasting relationships with you, our parents, students and staff.

GEAR UP is a federally-funded grant program that provides support and guidance to students so they will succeed in high school and have the opportunity to go to college.  We provide students and parents with services such as tutoring, academic support, career exploration, summer programs, college campus visits, parent outreach, college readiness, post-secondary information, and in-classroom technology: including laptops and calculators.

Here at Southridge, we will be serving the class of 2017 & 2018 and stay with them through their years here at Southridge.  Our focus for seniors will be helping them fill out their FAFSA and apply to colleges, while our recently graduated seniors will be focusing on being successful during their first year in college!

Sincerely,

Kelly Gabel
